Every three months I'm confronted with this one: I need to declare my VAT for the next quarter to the tax office (larger companies need to do this once per month, maybe Openismus GmbH does this monthly). In Germany needs to be done electronically through the Elster system.

It's very nice and full of features:

• Encryption (state of the art)
• Weak authentication (almost anyone knowing my tax number can submit tax forms for me)

Right now, lots of things are changing for me.

• I'm almost done with my »Vordiplom«
• I got a new bank account (and the bank consultant told me I still have my »Sparbuch« with 27 EUR, jippie, I'm rich)
• there are lots of other things that change around me

Also, ich war ja echt skeptisch, was nun diese 50 Euro extra sollten. 50 Euro zahlen, damit die weniger zu tun haben, naja, "kann man nichts machen" dachte ich und überweise den Kram dann mal letzten Donnerstag.

Aber den echten "Wow"-Effekt hatte ich dann Mittwoch: die Jungs (Bank, Haspa, der neue Verwaltungsapparat) haben tatsächlich nur 5 Werktage gebraucht um den ganzen Kram zu erledigen. Ob das jetzt 50 Euro wert ist oder nicht: besser als vorher ist es alle mal.
