GUADEC Wrap-Up
I have been attending my fourth GUADEC this year. As always, it's been a really great time with you guys. I have been doing some really nice hacks (to be talked about later) and you brought up several interesting ideas.
TabletPC rotation
Until last week I had two buttons within my panel: one to rotate into the tablet mode (portrait), one to rotate into the laptop mode (landscape). I finally managed to get the automatic screen roation done (with the help of Piotr Szotkowski from the Ubuntu Wiki and John Palmieri from the D-BUS hackers).
Matthew Garrett told me that he's got something similar working on his Toshiba TabletPC, so we should absolutely get this into a HAL interface so we can make TabletPCs really more useful.
HDAPS and TabletPCs
Imagine this being written in software...
Handwriting
Today I sent emails to the former authors of the HRE code that I'm working on right now, so I might be allowed to relicense the current engine's implementation to follow the LGPL route.
